• Everybody can be
great… because anybody can serve.  You don’t have to have a college degree to
serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only
need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.
  • Even if I knew that
tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.
  • Human salvation lies in
the hands of the creatively maladjusted.
  • It is not enough to say
we must not wage war. It is necessary to love peace and sacrifice for it.
  • Life’s most persistent
and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’
  • Love is the only force
capable of transforming an enemy into friend.
  • Never forget that
    everything Hitler did in
    was legal.
  • Never succumb to the
    temptation of bitterness.
  • Nonviolence means
avoiding not only external physical violence but also internal violence of
spirit. You not only refuse to shoot a man, but you refuse to hate him.
  • Peace is not merely a
distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.
  • Philanthropy is commendable,
but it must not cause the philanthropist to overlook the circumstances of
economic injustice which make philanthropy necessary.
  •  Wars are poor chisels
    for carving out peaceful tomorrows.
  •  Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice
  •  Our lives begin to end the day we become silent
    about things that matter.
  • We may have all come on
different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.

Martin Luther King Jr.
(1929 – 1968)
